Each doTERRA bottle says how you can use that oil and if it needs to be diluted.

Why I dilute my oils:

  • To prevent skin irritation.

  • Help apply over a larger area and prevent it from evaporating.

  • I always dilute my “hot” oils. These include: Cassia, Cinnamon, Oregano, Thyme and Clove.

If you skin gets irritated from applying an oil, DO NOT USE WATER, use a carrier oil or olive oil (if that’s what you have on hand) to dilute it and help pull it back out of the skin.

How I dilute my oils:

  • I make a roller bottle

  • Take 1 tsp fractionated coconut oil or carrier oil of choice and mix 1 drop of essential oil.

  • Mix 1 drop of essential oil with face moisturizer

  • Mix 3-5 drops essential oil with my body lotion

  • Make a body spray adding 20 drops of different oils to a 2oz spray bottle, top with fractionated coconut oil and apply after the shower.

This chart is a guideline for the number of drops per roller bottle, depending on your age and sensitivity.
